Richard Grusin is Professor of English at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where he has been director of the Center for 21st Century Studies. He is co-author, with J. D. Bolter, of one of the most influential books about digital culture, Remediation. Understanding New media, The MIT Press 2000. His research fields include media, cinema, history of representation, but also environmental, cultural, and American studies. Among his recent publications: Radical Mediation, in "Critical Inquiry" 2015; Premediation: Affect and Mediality After 9/11, Palgrave Nacmillan 2010; Culture, Technology, and the Creation of America’s National Parks, Cambridge Press 2004.
